Leroy taunts the giants guarding the wall drawing them to us. One lumbers toward us and a third comes from around the ruin wall and has a catapult strapped to his back and begins to heave boulders that crashed like thunder around our feet.
Nada, once again invisible, whispered curses in unsuspecting ears – and soft footed Raelin sounds like a cacophony of bells whenever he moves. We dropped the giant with what we do best – my magic, Samus’ brute force, Kron’s bolts, Leroy’s blade, and Raelin stabbing from behind. With their companion fallen, the remaining two giants fled, bellowing in fear.
Nada reappeared just long enough to sneer at us, vowing to tell her sister Shirl what we’d done before vanishing into thin air.
The giant had a pouch with Healing Potions; gold and gems inside.
Hoping that we don’t have to meet Nada and her sister hag, Shirl anytime soon, we piled into the hut and with Kron at the wheel (poor Samus is too little now), head on down the road toward the Wild Boar Inn.
We did not get very far before a giant with giant spiders crawling on him and around him blocks our path. I think we just found Shirl and Nada who cackle with anticipation on laying down some curses.
Samus slips over the slide of the balcony rails disappearing in the brush, wanting to give the sisters a nasty scare.
I call on my rod striking a spider and the giant and vaporizing webs that stretch across the road.
For the first time the KFC stomps into battle, crushing spiders beneath it’s feet. Leroy and I had to the ground as Raelin and Kron battle the spiders within, Kron at the wheel of the KFC and Raelin keeping the spiders off of Kron.
Leroy slices at the already wounded Nada. As Samus, calling on his giant runes, springs up from the bushes at full ogre height and smashes Nada to the ground, Leroy wails “She was mine!”
Shirl, seeing her sister fall, flees, but not before a warning that she and her sisters would be back. Without Shirl to guide them we make quick work of the spiders and remaining giants.
From Nada:
A bell that awakens the unconscious or those under sleep enchantments. (Leroy)
A yellow diamond—a conduit to summon an Earth Elemental. (Agniss)
A +1 golden lockpick, delicate and precise. (stacks) (Raelin)
A flute that can cast Fog Cloud once per day. (Leroy)
A ring of jumping (Kron)
And most curious: a bone chalice, enchanted to remove a curse—if filled with equal parts mouse, giant, and spider blood. (Samus)
Kron and Leroy used it to lift their “loudness” curse, much to everyone's relief. Samus, is deciding and takes two vials of the blood to decide later as being small has its advantages.
